Meet Florence, a mischievous lamb who doesn’t let her paralyzed back legs slow her down.

Florence is a dorper lamb, which means she has hair instead of wool, soft like a dog’s coat. She came to us with a paralyzed back end, most likely from a bad storm, and a severely infected wound that required twice-daily cleaning and treatment for months. Florence uses her strong front legs to zip around in her two-wheel cart.

Florence spent her early recovery in a cozy indoor space with members of our team, and she followed them everywhere, often trying to hop up onto the furniture in pursuit. Left on her own for even a moment, Florence stares at herself in the mirror and bleats at anyone who walks by the window. She loves running outside and soaking up the sun, tilting her chin up to collect all the rays.
