Meet Grace, a gentle soul with a heart of gold. Rescued alongside her companion Gwen from a dire situation at a livestock auction, Grace's journey to safety began under heartbreaking circumstances. When she was found, she still bore the remnants of her last pregnancy, with afterbirth clinging to her wool — a poignant reminder of a little lamb who may still be searching for their mother.
Grace’s road to recovery has come with its challenges. After a thorough examination, the veterinarians diagnosed her with a prepubic tendon rupture, likely a consequence of a previous pregnancy. This serious condition has resulted in a large abdominal wall herniation, making surgical repair unfeasible. While her situation is complex and may lead to discomfort in the future, Grace has shown remarkable resilience and continues to thrive in sanctuary.
At the time of her rescue, Grace was in poor body condition, scoring only 1 out of 5 on the scale. However, with dedicated care and monitoring, our goal is to support her in gaining strength and comfort. Her bloodwork and tests have shown no alarming issues, but we remain vigilant, ready to address any challenges that may arise.
Despite the hardships she has faced, Grace is a beautiful sheep who is slowly learning to trust again. Her gentle nature and quiet spirit light up our sanctuary. We are committed to giving her the happiest and most fulfilling life possible, no matter how long she graces us with her presence. Every day, we shower her with love, ensuring she feels safe and cherished.
