Ivy

Ivy is a joyful little lady! She always seems to be smiling. Sanctuary life is the good life, so she certainly has lots to be happy about, but life wasn’t always so kind to Ivy. When she was just 21 days old, Ivy was taken from her mother and loaded onto a transportation truck with up to 2,600 other innocent piglets. The truck was headed to a feeding facility where the piglets would stay until they reached “production age” (just six months old). At less than a month old, the tiny piglets are smaller than a loaf of bread and can easily fit through the holes in the sides of the transportation trucks. Ivy managed to break free during the drive, jumping or falling from the truck—and her leap of faith saved her life. Instead of a short, dark, and sorrowful life spent in a feeding facility, Ivy will have a long, bright, and beautiful life in sanctuary. It’s the life all pigs deserve. We’re so thankful she’s safe now. If you’ve never had your heart stolen by a pig before, Ivy is ready to be your first.
