Janis was rescued from a horrific hoarding situation in Pennsylvania by Lancaster Farm Sanctuary before she and her family were transferred to our care. Janis gave birth to her son, Biscuit, in terrible living conditions while struggling to find enough food to stay alive; let alone feed her newborn and the other babies on the property desperate for milk. Due to this unimaginable trauma Janis and her family endured, they are incredibly bonded and all remain a bit shy and distrustful around new humans. Janis is making great strides, however, and runs to her human caregivers for a treat! She and Biscuit can typically be found bouncing off of the boulders or snoozing under the playground together. Janis will only know love and safety from now on, as every mother should.
