Jewel was rescued from a horrific hoarding situation in Pennsylvania by Lancaster Farm Sanctuary, before she and her family were transferred to our care. Upon arrival at IFS, this goat family was sweet but understandably terrified, still coping from the trauma they endured. As a bonded group, these beautiful souls have integrated well into the herd, and their human caregivers are slowly earning their trust. Jewel still remains the most timid of them all, and we don’t push her past her comfort level. We are thrilled that she approaches us for snacks, because small victories matter! Jewel thoroughly enjoys exploring the pasture with her son, Noel, at her side. From now on, a peaceful life filled with love is all Jewel will ever know.
