Napoleon
In Need of a Sponsor
Napoleon didn’t come to us easily — and honestly, we respect him for it.
After receiving a call from animal control about a bull who had been on the run for months and was dangerously close to the interstate, we knew we had to act fast. What Napoleon had survived on his own was remarkable: months of isolation, freezing food and water sources, sub-zero temperatures and brutal wind with no shelter in sight. He had faced it all alone — no small thing for an animal who was never meant to be.
When he finally arrived at the sanctuary, he was scared, and he made sure we knew it. Fear-based aggression is something we understand well here. It isn’t a character flaw — it’s what happens when an animal has had no reason to trust. So we did what we always do: we showed up, day after day, with patience and kindness and no agenda other than earning his.
It worked.
Napoleon now lives for a good head scratch and takes his role very seriously as the leader of our big cow herd — a title he holds with full confidence, despite being one of the smallest cows on the property. The irony is not lost on us, and we love him for it.
He fought hard for his freedom. We’re honored to be the ones who get to give it to him.
When you sponsor an animal for a year you make a HUGE difference in their life. With your donation you will be helping Napoleon with all of his care, from routine vet visits to daily feedings.
With your yearly sponsorship (payments recurring monthly) you will receive quarterly updates and pictures of your resident in your email, your name on the IFS website, plus a spot on our exclusive sponsorship slideshow, viewable in the IFS store. Also, receive a free pass for all Sanctuary Strolls for the duration of your sponsorship!
Come out and meet the animals you’ve sponsored—so they can thank you themselves! This is the gift that keeps on giving, for you and for Napoleon
For your convenience, this sponsorship will automatically renew each year until you choose to discontinue sponsor support.
