Romeo

Sweet little Romeo was our first rescue of 2021. When we heard that a special little goat urgently needed sanctuary, we didn’t hesitate! Even though he was a newborn, Romeo was imminently at risk of being sent to slaughter due to his physical differences, and we absolutely could not let that happen.

In addition to being born without rear hooves, sweet little Romeo had very little range of motion in his front legs, and his thoracic spine was significantly deviated. Romeo was not able to stand independently or walk—but he wanted to, and he gave it his all. In addition to his mobility challenges, Romeo also began to experience some additional health concerns.

Despite everything going on in his body, Romeo was so happy and bright. It was impossible not to melt into a puddle in his presence. Romeo was pure love, and he was so very full of energy and enthusiasm. We’re so thankful that we were able to provide him with a safe and loving home, even though he was only with us for a short time. Romeo will always be in our hearts.
