Snowy
Snowy was one of four quadruplet goats raised at the sanctuary, along with siblings Willow, Valentina, and Gerald. The quadruplets were rescued in January 2018 when they were just hours old after being abandoned by their mother. Because the quadruplets did not receive their mother's colostrum, they spent nearly a week at the Iowa State University Large Animal Hospital where they were cared for around the clock. Snowy’s plasma-protein levels were incredibly low, putting him at risk for his immune system becoming compromised. The team at ISU acted quickly, and Snowy received a plasma transfusion at the hospital just a few days after he was born. We’ll never forget living with those four impossibly adorable babies in the house as they grew. You could always tell Snowy apart from his siblings by his tri-colored marking on his face. Snowy will be greatly missed by everyone at the sanctuary, especially his siblings.
