🎨 Silent Auction: Bid on an array of unique items and experiences generously donated by our supporters. From handmade crafts to exclusive getaways, there's something for everyone.

🎟️ Raffle: Test your luck with our exciting raffle featuring fabulous prizes. With each ticket purchased, you not only stand a chance to win big but also contribute to the well-being of our animal residents.

🥗 Vegan Picnic-style Meal: Enjoy a tasty vegan meal catered by Veggie Reaper. Every bite reflects our commitment to cruelty-free living and sustainable food choices.

💬 Panel Discussion: Engage in thought-provoking conversations led by experts to be announced shortly. Gain insights, ask questions, and ignite inspiration for positive change.

Pleine Air Painting at Iowa Farm Sanctuary

Join us on Saturday, August 19th, and spend a warm summer evening painting pleine air among the residents at Iowa Farm Sanctuary! Experience the magical golden hour, and capture your own idyllic views of the farm and residents.

All materials are provided, including watercolor paper, transparent and opaque watercolor tube paints, palettes, and brushes. Experienced landscape watercolorist, Sharon Gray, will provide instruction and tips on watercolor techniques.

All ages 12+ and all experience levels are welcome! Tickets are $25 and purchased ahead of time, so please grab yours! All proceeds from this event benefit the residents here at Iowa Farm Sanctuary and support the work that we do.

**Feeling a little intimidated by free-hand painting but still want to experience the art vibe and beautiful evening? We’ll have mandala coloring books and markers available, too.

Sleep Under the Stars with Calvin and Connor!

Doesn't that sound like a dream come true?! What could be better than a sleepover with rescued baby cows? Join us for our 7th annual summer camping event (July 15th-July 16th)

Our summer campout is one of our all-time favorite traditions because it’s so relaxed, restorative, and joyful. This year, you’ll enjoy quality time with our rescued residents, yard games, a movie screening, an evening camping under the stars at the sanctuary, vegan s’mores around the campfire, compassionate company, Cinnaholic and coffee for breakfast, and a special sunrise yoga session!

Halloween Sanctuary Stroll 2022

Join us for our 2022 Halloween Sanctuary Stroll
—a spooky sunset stroll around the sanctuary!
Costumes encouraged!

You’re invited to a very special, kinda spooky, sunset Sanctuary Stroll & vegan Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, October 29th at 4:30PM! Costumes are strongly encouraged!

This family-friendly event will feature a sunset stroll around our nearly one-mile-long nature trail. Sanctuary volunteers will be stationed throughout the trail to tell you about our rescued residents and hand out vegan treats (for the humans)!
Please stop into the store to check in/purchase tickets upon arrival.
We will also be providing goodie bags for the kids to use for trick or treating!

After the stroll, you’re invited to stick around for a vegan Trunk-or-Treat! It’s like trick-or-treating, but instead of going door to door, you go trunk to trunk! Children and adults are welcome to participate! Please be sure to bring vegan goodies only for your trunk.

We’ll be awarding prizes for best costume and best trunk decoration! Winners will receive $25 IFS store credit.

We recommend arriving right at 4:30PM so you have enough time to walk around the trail before it gets dark!

Please join us in celebrating Carl’s life and legacy at Carl’s 5K!

Carl was the first cow ever rescued by Iowa Farm Sanctuary. At only a few days old, Carl arrived at our sanctuary with the number 527 glued to the side of his little body. He was just a number to the dairy industry—another product to be sold. Had Carl not been too sick to walk out onto the auction floor, he would have been sold as veal. 

Carl was so tiny and so sick that we weren’t sure if he’d survive—but against all the odds, Carl made it. He grew up to be a gigantic, sassy, and mischievous steer; his personality was truly larger than life. We suddenly lost Carl in 2021 to a hidden illness that he contracted before his rescue, and life will never be the same again without him here.

Celebrating Carl’s birthday has always been one of Iowa Farm Sanctuary’s most cherished traditions. This year would have been Carl’s 6th birthday, but now we are honoring the legacy of his precious life instead. 

Carl’s 5K will be unlike any race you’ve ever participated in before, as the course will wind around our beautiful sanctuary grounds—our rescued residents cheering you on as you go! After you cross the finish line, you can visit with your favorite residents and enjoy complimentary vegan snacks—or bring a little vegan picnic to enjoy!

Both runners and walkers are welcome! We’re also offering a self-timed virtual option for those who cannot join us in person! Additionally, you can register as a herd if you want to! Well, as a team—but we’re cow people! Registration (both in-person and virtual) includes an exclusive t-shirt, bib, and medal! 

We hope you’ll join us in making Carl’s 5K the magnificent celebration of life that he deserves!
