Routine Chores

If you’re looking to get out on the farm and volunteer among the residents, this opportunity is for you! Routine chores start at 10:00am every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, finishing up once chores are done around 1:00pm. Volunteers for routine chores will need to attend an orientation and ideally volunteer at least twice a month on the days that are most convenient for them. Typical volunteer activities include:

  • Mucking barns

  • Laying out fresh bedding

  • Cleaning and filling water dishes

  • General sanctuary clean up

  • Animal care related tasks

Garden Committee

For the green thumbs out there, we have a garden committee that helps organically and sustainably grow produce to feed the animals, maintains pollinator-friendly plantings, and manages other landscaping projects. Typical garden committee activities currently include:

  • Planning the year’s garden and projects

  • Spring clean-up and plant bed prep

  • Planting seeds, dividing and transplanting perennials

  • Maintaining signage

  • Harvesting crops

  • Weeding, mulching, and watering

  • Closing the gardens

Fundraising Committee

For those interested in behind the scenes work, our fundraising committee has a variety of opportunities. The fundraising committee meets as needed to discuss projects with most work being done remotely. Fundraising committee tasks may include:

  • Assist with donor management projects

  • Seek sponsorships and donations

  • Assist with advertising campaigns

  • Plan and execute events
