A little before Easter in 2019, we received an email about a free Craigslist ad for a free special needs lamb. We feared someone would make her their Easter dinner, so we loaded up the truck and got there first.

Eve was born completely blind in one eye (which had to be removed because the pressure was so extreme), almost completely blind in the other eye, and with contracted front legs. We also thought she may have a cleft palate, but she just has a unique smile! The people who cared for her previously had a tradition of naming their lambs with the first letter of their mother’s name. We wanted to keep that tradition going and named her Eve.

Eve is a very special and sweet girl. She has made a lot of friends at Iowa Farm Sanctuary, especially her two best friends— Angel the miniature Zebu and our start volunteer, Tara, who named her.
