Chase arrived at Iowa Farm Sanctuary after enduring a series of alarming events. Born blind, he was abandoned by his herd and discovered days later, weak and starving, unable to stand.
After receiving tender care from the farmers for a few weeks, they awoke to a shocking scene: Chase was in their deep pond, desperately swimming to find his way out. That's when we intervened.
By the time he reached us, Chase was battling a serious UTI and flystrike. However, within just a few days, he began to improve significantly and is now diligently working on creating mental maps of his surroundings here. Chase's resilience inspires us all.
