Sweet little Ginger came to IFS as a foster piglet in early Fall 2020. At just 21 days old, Ginger jumped from a transportation truck on Interstate 80 and was later found wandering in a residential area, wounded and afraid. We received a call about Ginger from a local animal shelter, and we agreed care for her at the sanctuary until we could find her a perfect forever home. But, things happen, and we fell in love! We couldn’t bear the thought of saying goodbye to Ginger, so we happily became foster failures instead! 

Ginger’s personality is bubbly, cuddly, sassy, and impossibly sweet. While she’s starting to get a little too big to carry around, Ginger has always loved to be held by her human caregivers. Nothing seems to give Ginger more joy than being cradled in the arms of a trusted friend. Ginger is the most affectionate piglet we’ve ever known. She’s a busy little gal, as all piglets are, but Ginger always finds time to flop over at our feet for a belly rub. Even though humans failed her in the past, Ginger looks at each human she meets as an instant friend. Ginger loves unconditionally, and we learn so much from her every single day.
