Meet Lucy, a soon-to-be-walking miracle.

Lucy came to us alongside another calf, Tank. At birth, Lucy was able to walk but lost that ability within a couple of days. Despite visits to several universities, the cause of her condition remains unknown. 

Lucy came to Iowa Farm Sanctuary for rehabilitation, where our team and volunteers lifted her in and out of her cart multiple times a day to help strengthen her muscles.

Lucy is a fighter. She is now supporting her own weight and taking steps, and recently made it all the way across the yard on her own. Based on her progress, we believe Lucy will walk independently one day and live a long, happy life here at the sanctuary.
